Romania Project type: large Centrul Roman pentru Jurnalism de Investigatie (CRJI)

Summary

When fully developed, the kit will allow for distributed, non-hierarchical data analysis, sharing, information exchange and annotation, while giving network members distributed and granular control over data management. Our freely-licensed ‘smart bundle’ will have strong security protections, designed to operate within both a federated or local network. While the software can run on any server, a focus will be small and portable (ARM-Class) devices.

Our goal is to provide investigative journalists with an open source, secure and integrated environment to enable distributed, liquid collaboration on journalistic projects.

The solution

Journalists need new systems to facilitate their collaborative work to enable them to search, analyse, annotate and share their work in a secure, integrated environment.
