Summary

Batjo lets journalist translate digital datasets into physical offline data-driven "news installations", transforming the consumpution of news.

The solution

Traditionally news is consumed by listening or watching, but Batjo wants news content to be consumed physically. They are creating a toolkit that lets journalists produce offline physical experiences. Just as tools like Google Fusion Tables and DataWrapper democratised online data visualisation, Batjo’s digital fabrication takes these visualisations beyond the constraints of the screen to build real-life experiences.
